These terms cover your use of DejaChess, operated by OctoPanther LLC. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them.

The service

DejaChess imports chess games you played on Chess.com or Lichess, finds mistakes with engine analysis in your browser, and turns them into training puzzles. It's a training tool — we make no promises about your rating (though we're rooting for you).

Your account

You're responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. You must be at least 13 years old. Only import games from accounts you have the right to access — in practice, your own.

Acceptable use

Don't abuse the service: no attempting to disrupt or overload it, no scraping other users' data, no using DejaChess to violate Chess.com's or Lichess's terms (including cheating in live games). We may suspend accounts that do.

Pricing

DejaChess is currently free. We may introduce paid features in the future; if that happens, we'll give clear notice before anything changes for you.

Third-party content

Game data comes from the public Chess.com and Lichess APIs and remains subject to those platforms' terms. DejaChess is not affiliated with or endorsed by Chess.com or Lichess. Stockfish is open-source software used under its license.

No warranty

DejaChess is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. Engine analysis can be wrong, imports can hiccup, and the service may change or be interrupted. To the fullest extent permitted by law, OctoPanther LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Termination

You can stop using DejaChess and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, and may modify or discontinue the service; if we ever discontinue it, we'll give reasonable notice.

Changes to these terms

If we update these terms, we'll change the date above and note material changes in the app. Continuing to use DejaChess after changes means you accept the new terms.
